This annual floral festival at the Dallas Arboretum features 500,000 blossoms! Runs through April 8, and is included with general admission, $13 per child and $22 per adult. See website for more details.

Open Farm Days
Normally, Cathy’s Critters in Princeton is open to the public weekends only, but this month, it’s open for an extended weekend March 14-17, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Enjoy petting zoos, pony rides, outback tours, and more. Tickets are $10 per child and $15 per adult. Ages two and under free. Cups of feed $3 each. Check the link for the weather policy.
Texas Tulips
Drive up to Texas Tulips in Pilot Point to pick your own bouquet for $2.50 per stem. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. $6 per person, free for children 12 months and younger.

Anime, in Concert!
Your favorite anime movie soundtracks come alive at Allen High School Performing Arts Center from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 for students and seniors, and $25 per adult.

Enjoy this timeless tale and support Genesis Children’s Theatre in Plano! Show times include matinées and nightly performances, March 1–3 and March 8–10. Tickets are $15–$18 per person.

Plano Farmer’s Market
Open every Saturday (year-round) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., come stroll and sample produce, eggs, honey, bread, and jam from Plano’s local artisans.
Texas Independence Day
This annual celebration returns to Grandscape in The Colony with live music, armadillo races, photo ops with the Cowboys cheerleaders, face painting, and a fireworks finale, all for free! 2:00–8:00 p.m.
TEXFest
Historic Downtown Carrollton’s free annual Texas Independence Day celebration features a beer garden with local craft beer vendors, live Texas music, a food village, photo ops with a longhorn, and more. 3:00 – 9:00 p.m.
The Big Easy in Little Elm
Little Elm Park is the spot for Cajun food, live music, 5K and 10K fun runs, a hot air balloon glow, and a King Cake eating contest! 5:00–9:00 p.m. Free ($10 parking).

Sundays on the Lawn
Come out for Sundays on The Lawn™ from 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.! Stroll The Lawn and shop from a variety of vendors for free.

Toddler Tuesday at Crayola
Come out on the first Tuesday of each month for age-appropriate crafts, story time, activities, Toddler Town and more attractions at The Crayola Experience in Plano. Tickets from $25.99.

Every Friday, Heritage Farmstead Museum invites littles ages two to five to feed the chickens, take a wagon ride, meet the livestock, do a craft, and join story time. Bring a picnic! 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., $15 per child; $5 per adult.

Daylight Savings Starts
Friendly reminder to spring forward! For many of us, that means blackout curtains and lots of whining that it can’t possibly be bedtime yet.

At Heritage Farmstead Museum in Plano, kids plant and plow the field, milk Buttermilk the mechanical cow, meet farm animals, feed chickens, and play games from the past. Pack a lunch. 10:00 a.m.–12 p.m. $10 per child, $5 per adult.

Enjoy this Shakespeare- and Elvis-inspired tale performed by Rodenbaugh Theatre at Willow Bend Center of the Arts. Suggested audience is 11 years and older. Tickets from $20. Performance runs March 15–17, and March 21–24.

See more than 400 pinball machines and classic video games set to free play at the Frisco Convention Center. Children ages 5 and younger get in free. Hours and admission for everyone else vary by day (Sunday is the most affordable!).

Owl Prowl Night Hike
After a live screech owl presentation, take a guided night hike through the sanctuary, for ages 3 and up. (Kids 2 and under must be in a carrier.) Wear closed toe shoes and bring a flashlight with a red lens. Pre-registration required. 6:30 p.m. $18 for members, $20 for non-members.

Wear white to Myers Park in McKinney to celebrate Holi from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Now in its 14th year, the fest features DJs, dhol (traditional drums from India), food trucks, dance troupes, and color throws. Kids ages 10 and under get in free. Tickets $12, parking $10.

Come out for this free farmer’s market event at The Lawn featuring Four Seasons Markets! Stroll The Lawn and shop from a variety of vendors from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Frisco Festival of Colors
Celebrate the arrival of spring with music, dancing, and color throws at Independence Parkway practice field from 2:00–5:00 p.m. Park for free at the Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple of Frisco. ($5 per bag of colors.)

Little Farmers: Swing into Spring
Pre-schoolers enjoy schoolhouse story time, a flower craft, hayride, and old-fashioned spring cleaning (think washboard and clothesline). Pack a picnic for lunch on the 4-acre farm! 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. $15 per child; $5 per adult.

Homeschool Day
Students learn how to do farm chores from the 1800s including laundry, plowing and planting a field, feeding the chickens, rug beating, and milking Buttermilk the Cow (the mechanical milking machine). Pack a lunch or snack for a picnic on the farm! 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. $12 per child; $5 per adult.

Matilda Jr.
See the beloved characters Trunchbull, Miss Honey, and courageous Matilda at the Rodenbaugh Theatre at Willow Bend Center of the Arts. This show is recommended for all ages. Tickets from $12.
