Looking for local allergen-free bakeries in Collin County?
There’s nothing more nerve-wracking than food allergies when it comes to our babies, am I right? As someone who doesn’t have any food allergies, it wasn’t something that really crossed my mind very often. When my oldest started on solid foods, I was a bit wary about food allergies, but he never had any issues.
However, when my daughter started solid foods about six months ago, we were thrown into the arena of infant food allergies. I’m thankful that her food allergies are fairly mild with hives and not at the anaphylactic level.

In any case, food allergies are scary. You want to introduce all the things to your baby, but you also don’t want to find yourself in the ER.
So as our daughter’s first birthday approached, I had to find a plan B, as a traditional birthday cake was out. I’ll be the first to admit that I was extremely skeptical about baked goods that are dairy-free and egg-free (vegan). I mean, butter and eggs are basically the cornerstones of baking, right?
However, when we found out that our daughter had confirmed dairy and egg allergies thanks to a trip to an allergist, I had to change my tune. I’m happy to report that she got to enjoy birthday cake in spite of her allergies. Here are the local allergen-free bakeries that I highly recommend!
Allergen-Free Bakeries in Collin County
Unrefined Bakery
3411 Preston Road Suite 8
Frisco, TX 75034

The allergist we went to see recommended Unrefined Bakery in Frisco. The staff was super helpful with recommending some cupcakes for my daughter. I ended up getting a Vegan Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate frosting and Vegan Vanilla Cupcake with Strawberry frosting and two vegan cookies.
These cupcakes are free of gluten/dairy/soy/corn/peanuts/tree nuts/eggs.
My toddler ate up the cookies without any objection. In fact, after finishing the first cookie, he asked for more.
Since this was the first time my daughter ever had sweets, I started her with the completely allergen-free cupcake from Unrefined Bakery. She loved it! I also really appreciated that I didn’t have to worry about her having an allergic reaction.
I tried these cupcakes, too, and I’ll be honest, they are a good allergen-free substitute, but definitely not unmistakable from the “real” thing. I preferred the Chocolate Vegan over the Vanilla Vegan.
If you’re looking for allergen-free bakeries in Collin County, Unrefined Bakery has lots of great options from bread, muffins, cookies, cakes, pies, and more!

Reverie Bakeshop came highly recommended by two of my girlfriends. They promised me that the vegan baked goods would be delicious. After perusing their website, I ordered a Classic Marble cake online. My friend picked it up for me and we met in Plano so I could bring it home.
Oh. My. Goodness. To say that I was blown away by this vegan cake would be an understatement. As someone who is generally skeptical when it comes to alternative food substitutes, I was so impressed. If I didn’t know that it was vegan, I would have never have suspected it was. I don’t know what kind of magic they bake into the cakes, but seriously, the cake was so good. I will note that the cake I ordered was not gluten-free. It was, however, dairy-free and egg-free. They do offer gluten-free cakes, which now I’m curious to try!
Even my mom was impressed, and she was as skeptical as I was when I told her the cake was free of dairy and eggs. Let’s just say my whole family was impressed. Even my picky three-year-old toddler approved.
So, bottom line, if you’re looking for some allergen-free bakeries, and can tolerate gluten, I highly recommend Reverie Bakeshop. Definitely worth it! They also have gluten-free cakes on the menu, too.
