There are so many variations today when it comes to the “modern mom.” Some of us work full time outside the house, some of us stay home, others work from home. Part time, full time, day time, night time – there is no longer a standard 9-5. We are all just trying to make it through the day.
One of the hardest things about the crazy lives we are all living is to find time and effort to put into ourselves and our look. It’s a rat race, but we don’t want to look like we’re literally the rat racing for the cheese through a Texas-style hail storm.
Enter the athleisure trend.
What is athleisure? A category of clothing that’s a hybrid of athletic style apparel with multi-purpose appeal. For example, you’re going to school drop off, heading to a yoga class to clear your mind after a rip-roaring morning with the kids, and then are off to run errands and hit a lunch meeting all before noon. There is no time to change in between all of this, so luckily this new trend can take you through all four scenarios without looking like the “hot mess express.”
Do you work from home all day and then have to rush off to two different school pick ups, soccer practice, dance class, and then to meet a girlfriend for an overdue dinner out? Hello, athleisure.
All you need to throw in your bag is some lipstick and mascara refreshers and your day is in control.
I can’t tell you enough how the athleisure trend has made my life better and easier. I have always been fashion forward, taken pride in my style, and spent time putting my look together. However, three kids and life has made it difficult to be stylish. My personal style has become ALL ABOUT athleisure, no matter what hat I am wearing (mom, wife, employee, business owner, etc). I can literally do it all in this style and I love it. So much so that when a fellow mom and athleisure loving friend offered for me to be a part of such a business, I was ALL IN. That’s when Athletique & Co. was born. Find out more about our awesome, mom-owned athleisure company by checking out our Instagram and website.
