It’s no secret finding your mom spirit animal is no easy task. As weird as it sounds, it’s a lot like dating. It goes something like this. You meet, you have a connection, you ask the other person out if they’d like to meet up for a playdate, playdate goes well, then you ask for a second date get together. Weird right?!
That’s why we decided to host our first mommy speed dating event for Collin County Moms Blog! Tupps Brewing hosted 75+ mamas in search of their new mom BFF. From Richardson to Anna, the women came from all over Collin County ready to speed date!Tupps Brewing had an excellent assortment of cold brews on tap for the women to enjoy a drink prior to starting the event. I think the crowd favorite was the Raspberry Shade. Just a touch of raspberry mixed with a crisp light blonde beer. YUM! Such a fun place for a date night, or a group outing!
Next stop, sweet treats! Thank you to Nothing Bundt Cakes McKinney for providing their infamous bundles of heaven known as bundtinis. You can’t go wrong with any of their flavors, but we recommend the chocolate chocolate chip (duh!) or the red velvet!
Once the women grabbed a drink and a sweet treat we were ready to speed date! We split everyone up into groups by the area in which they live, and the clock started. Each pair of women had two minutes to decide if there was a love connection or not. If there was a connection the women simply wrote down that person’s name. If you weren’t part of the group currently speed dating you could even do a little shopping at Inspire Fashion. They had everything from the perfect graphic tees (like this one) to dresses and blouses for a girl’s night out with your new BFF. After an hour of speed dating the room had erupted in conversation. It was clear tons of connections had been made.
To add to the excitement of the event we got to give away some fabulous goodies! Thank you to Eagle Gymnastics Academy, JDM School of Dance, N Circle Entertainment, Kendra Scott, Jungle Joe’s, and Urban Air Trampoline Park for helping us spoil all these sweet mamas!
As the event wrapped up we saw some go ahead and exchange digits, otherwise the women received an email with contact info for any matches from the evening. Everyone headed home with a swag bag filled with goodies from Kate Somerville, Nothing Bundt Cakes McKinney, Inspire Fashion, and Allen Premium Outlets.
A big thank you to Aissa Tendorf Photography for capturing all the fun for us with her beautiful photography. Aissa is an excellent option if you’re looking for a new family photographer!
