13 Places to Host a Baby Shower in Collin County

But, that can get a little stressful, like when it’s 30 minutes till party time, you’re still not dressed, and you’re rushing around the kitchen thinking, “Why do I do this to myself!?”

If you want to skip all that (and post-party clean up), take a look at our list of 13 sweet places to host a baby shower in Collin County.

Note: These spots make the list because they offer private event options. Depending on the size of your party and your needs, you can often make do with a regular reservation.

1. Babe’s

At Babe’s in Frisco, think down home, casual, red-and-white-checkered everything. Maybe a bit of a Texas theme? Babe’s is all about family style, which makes it easy to order for large groups. And while it does not take reservations, it does have a secondary dining area that can be reserved for parties.

2. Chocolate Angel

Tucked inside High Street Antique Mall in Plano, Chocolate Angel remains one of the OG baby shower spots in the metroplex. While many beloved tea rooms have gone under in recent years, Chocolate Angel endures. Choose from three private rooms: The kitschy Garden Room with a flowering trellis, the shabby chic Tea Room, or Ellie’s Room. Bonus: If you host here, you can shop the antiques afterwards!

3. Fortunata Winery

Gather under the dappled shade of this vineyard and winery in Aubrey perfectly suited for a spring or fall shower. Fortunata’s outdoor patio features a fireplace, shady trees, and live music on the weekends. Its shareable menu of charcuterie boards and wood-fired pizzas are perfect for a gathering, as well as its tasting menu of homegrown wines. If your village loves to boogie, host a shower on the first Thursday of the month for $7 line dancing lessons. Parties of eight or more require a reservation, and parties of 20 or more are considered a small event and will need to contact the in-house event coordinator.

Harvest at the Masonic, a farm-to-table restaurant in Historic Downtown McKinney, serves seasonal, locally-sourced American fare in the town’s restored Masonic Lodge. Love the sage green walls, velvet chairs, and Americana art. It offers two semi-private spaces, one called “the secret corner” for up to 10 guests, or the masonic lounge on the third floor for 12.

5. Haywire 

Haywire at Legacy West in Plano offers gram-worthy spaces that speak to a Texas mama’s heart. Reserve a Marfa-inspired tent on the rooftop for six of her besties, or sip mocktails with the whole squad (up to 25) in the Airstream. Haywire’s chipotle chocolate layer cake is sure to satisfy a Texan mom’s pregnancy craving.

6. Heirloom Haul

With two locations in Frisco and Prosper, Heirloom Haul is more than a charming cafe. It’s a boho chic shop, hat bar, and tea room in one. Talk about a girly brunch date! Baby showers here are casual and effortless, but you can elevate it by booking one of its special events options: Hat bar plus bites for $25 per person, afternoon tea for $50 per person, or a custom event. Note that the Prosper venue is mostly outdoor seating, so plan accordingly.

7. J. Theodore

By day, a brunch hot spot; by night, a speakeasy — J. Theodore would make a memorable venue for any mama and her village. Regulars rave about its chicken and waffles and fried chicken breakfast biscuits as well as its inventive list of cocktails and mocktails. If you want to break away from the traditional brunch bash, make it a nighttime hang, but be prepared for dim lighting and loud music. Make a group reservation online or contact the banquet manager to book the weekend brunch, afternoon tasting, or cocktail hour packages.

8. Layered 

Layered in McKinney is an eclectic little restaurant, coffee shop, and bakery offering everything from brunch to gorgeous cakes to the “best cheese board in McKinney.” Would be just the spot for a dessert-based baby shower.

9. Rise No.1

Plano’s Rise No. 1 specializes in soufflé — the masterpiece of French cuisine. The restaurant serves all sorts of savory and sweet versions of the fluffy stuff, including one called Marshmallow Soup which is, if you ask me, merveilleux. Host your rendezvous in the birch tree dining forest, or reserve the private outdoor patio. Remember to ask about the gender reveal soufflés, too.

10. Sixty Vines

Sixty Vines in Plano has several private room options: The greenhouse, a glass-enclosed patio adorned with tropical plants, perfect for a Baby-in-Bloom theme; the terrace, another outdoor space; or one of the private and semi-private rooms. The menu includes shared plates and boards (even a dessert board), which are always good for groups.

11. True Food Kitchen

Located at Legacy West in Plano, True Food Kitchen offers seasonal fare, lots of non-alcoholic “refreshers,” and sourdough crust pizza in a light, bright space. You can book the private dining room with tables and wraparound seating for up to 40 guests. If you can’t get a reservation here, try the Dallas location at Preston Center.

12. Tupelo Honey

Frisco’s Tupelo Honey serves southern home cooking made from scratch. It’s been rated as one of the top 100 brunches in America, but supper is delicious, too. 13. Whistle Britches

If it’s fried chicken she wants, fried chicken she gets at Whistle Britches in Plano. Its two locations in Plano and Southlake are excellent for celebrating a special occasion, inside or out, by day or by candlelight at night. On the website you’ll find a private party inquiry form (complete with photos), which is recommended for groups of eight or more.
