10 Hot Chocolate Spots in Collin County

Hot chocolate is one of the best treats of the holiday season! One that kids and adults can enjoy together, and there are plenty of places to find great hot chocolate in Collin County.

With two locations in Frisco, Annie’s Sweets and Treats is a tasty dessert stop. Grab a hot chocolate, or a sugary icy cold drink, and a unique dessert. It also has a fantastic white chocolate latte.

2. Black Rock Coffee Bar

If you want to add a little espresso to your hot chocolate, this is the place! Black Rock Coffee Bar has locations in both Plano and Frisco. And if you have a kiddo who doesn’t love hot chocolate, it has fantastic Italian soda flavors to choose from as well.

3. Dunkin Donuts

We love getting breakfast sandwiches and Munchkins (its version of donut holes) here. And while the hot chocolate at Dunkin Donuts is pretty typical, you can elevate it by asking for it to be made with milk! Dunkin has locations and drive-thrus all over the metroplex.

4. Dutch Bros 

The lemonades from Dutch Bros are a big hit in my house, but it also has a spectacular holiday drinks menu! The peppermint and hazelnut hot chocolates are equally delicious. With multiple locations, this is a fun and easy stop!

5. Frogg Cafe

Located in Waters Creek Village, within walking distance to the playground, Frogg Cafe has delicious hot chocolate. This stop in Allen also has a tasty Mexican hot chocolate. Check out the Nutella crepe while you’re there.

6. Handels 

When you live in the south, sometimes a creamy chocolate milkshake is a better option than a hot drink. When that’s the case, Handels is your place! Its handmade ice cream and shakes are incredibly delicious. Order from one of its three locations in Collin County.

7. HTeaO

I just recently learned about HTeaO but quickly became a loyal convert. Its flavors are amazing. For hot chocolate, you get the option of mixing in mocha or white chocolate sauce topped with steamed milk. When you catch happy hour, the drinks are cheaper than a fast food soda. Check out the creamy iced lattes for a holiday treat. There are several locations around the metroplex.

8. Magic Cup Cafe

Not only does it serve wonderful hot chocolate, but Magic Cup Cafe also has an Oreo Frappuccino that is a hit with the kids. Known for its bubble teas, it specializes in exciting flavors for gelato, smoothies, teas, and more. Visit both locations in McKinney and Richardson.

9. Mudleaf Coffee

Located in Plano, Mudleaf Coffee is a cozy cafe with all the caffeine fixings plus a wonderful hot chocolate option. The strawberry Nutella toast is brilliant as well.

10. Swig 

Pro tip :: The iced hot chocolate is a sharable size! These massive drinks are sweet and delicious. Check out the pretzel bites at Swig, too. There are Swig locations all around Collin County, and its drive thru moves quickly.
