I received the opportunity to sample a few of their items: the Lemon Bar, Pecan Bar, and Chocolate Brownie, plus slices of their Luscious Lemon Pound Cake and Apple Pie. All my items were delivered to my home well packaged and ready to eat.
I knew I would have to share all these goodies with my teenager and my husband, but I wanted to get first dibs on my all-time favorites: the lemon bar and the pound cake.
Lemon Bar
I love a good lemon bar BUT lemon bars can be tricky. You order one, and it’s either too sweet or too tart. This lemon bar was divine: the ideal combo of sweet and tart. I brewed a cup of mint tea to have along with the lemon bar, and it was the perfect accompaniment. When I think of lemon bars, I think of backyard get-togethers on partially cool (Texas) summer evenings. These lemon bars would be great to take to a barbecue or other outdoor dinner event.
Pound Cake
I was blown away by the flavor and homemade taste of the Luscious Lemon pound cake. It was so moist, which is a must for pound cake! And the lemon glaze on top was delicious. Took me right back to my grandmother’s kitchen, and the nostalgia made the experience all the more pleasurable. I could really taste the love and care that Tell Me Something Sweet’s founder’s maternal grandmother put into this recipe. The Luscious Lemon Pound Cake would make a lovely addition to the table for a Sunday supper, wedding brunch, or graduation celebration!
My husband and teenager devoured the pecan bar and chocolate brownie. They raved over the flavor and the moistness of the baked goods and asked if I had any more, so I guess I know what I’ll be picking up on my next trip to Tell Me Something Sweet!
