If you haven’t visited the Eisemann Center for their Family Theatre Series, what are you waiting for? The plays are funny, timely, educational, and are fun for the whole family! For example, Maddi’s Fridge, an endearing story about a friend on a quest to help her friend’s family stock their fridge with food. Based on the book by Lois Brandt, the story draws families and kids into timely issues like food scarcity.
It was a surprise to Sofia when she opened her friend Maddi’s fridge and found only a lone carton of milk, but no other snacks while they were playing. Maddi admitted that her mother did not have money to buy groceries for the family, so Sofia went on a quest to help her friend fill her belly with food, thinking that she won’t be able to run, jump, and play without food. And she’s right, she wouldn’t be! Soon, Sofia’s mom finds out what her daughter is up to, then hops on board helping the family fill their fridge – Maddi’s Fridge.
This story is just a sample of the delightful storytelling the Eisemann Center brings to families throughout their entire Family Theatre Series. Stories like Pete the Cat, Judy Moody and Stink, and DogMan the Musical are but a few of the great shows coming up this season.
The Eisemann Center and Network of Community Ministries Team Up
The Eisemann Center and the Network of Community Ministries have teamed up to bring awareness to those who might be experiencing financial trouble and food scarcity. They’ll be providing empty grocery bags for children and their parents to fill up for kids and families in need. Additionally, any bags turned into the Eisemann Center ticket office or to the Network of Community Ministries will receive a Buy One, Get One promo code to see Maddi’s Fridge on Sunday, October 13, 2019. Any bags donated will receive a 20% off discount code for the November 24 performance of Pete the Cat.
