There’s something so magical about the Christmas season. Children are filled with excitement in anticipation of the big day, adults tend to be a little kinder in the spirit of the season, and although life can get a little hectic this time of year, it just feels different. It’s the kind of hectic that’s filled with love and joy only the holidays can bring.
We have really enjoyed partnering with our friends at McDonald’s for a monthly lunch get together called Lunch Bunch. We recently attended the last lunch and McDonald’s at Coit and George Bush pulled out all the stops. Rudolph joined the party to add a little extra Christmas spirit to everyone’s day, and of course to pose for pictures. There were ring toss games, coloring books, and swag bags both for the little ones as well as the adults in attendance. The whole event was such a treat!
Parents even had the opportunity to enjoy a meal while their kiddos either played on the indoor playscape or participated in all the festivities.
In an effort to stay true to what this season is all about, McDonald’s also brought in Diane from Ronald McDonald House to fill us in on exactly what they do and how we can get involved. It was so evident how passionate those associated with Ronald McDonald House are by the emotion Diane displayed just by talking to us about the organization. It was very refreshing to see that kind of commitment to such a great and worthy cause.
For those of you curious about what Ronald McDonald House does, here’s a quick run down. In an effort to reduce stress on families with sick children they offer temporary housing for little to no cost to the family. Their stay includes meals and access to laundry services. Ronald McDonald House hopes this small act of kindness during an extremely difficult time will help lessen the burden and let families focus on the healing of their child.
If this mission speaks to you, I highly encourage you to visit the Ronald McDonald House website to learn how you and your family can get involved. There are so many ways to support this program, from donating your time, to monetary donations, to donating supplies. After all, isn’t that what Christmas is all about?
Thank you again to McDonald’s for being such gracious hosts month after month, and for putting together such fun events for our families this year! We loved partnering with you and learning about your extensive menu options, and what the McDonalds brand is really all about!
Thank you to all the families who attended these events, and we hope you all have a very happy holiday and a wonderful new year!
