My boys are still too young to decipher whether I’m COOL or not, to them, OF COURSE I’m cool! I think it isn’t until the teen years that they start realizing I’m not so much.
So while I still have the title I’m just going to ride the wave. I grew up very much a tom boy- and proud of it! So now that I’ve had my crew of kids –three boys– it comes very easy for me to pick their clothes while shopping or [in the toddler’s case] pick his ensemble all together: t-shirt, jeans and VAMONOS!
My favorite shopping spots are the usual: Old Navy, Target, any local resale shop. But sometimes I get the itch to go beyond those and really have the t-shirt do the talking.
One thing to know about me: I’m an AVID Instagramer! And I LOVE IT!
I love perusing, finding and following oh so many small businesses who cater to moms, dads, babies, and kids. So many of our go-to tees have been purchased just by searching on Instagram alone. Pinterest and Etsy have sucked me in as well.
Do a search for graphic tees or graphic tees for kids on Pinterest and tell me you don’t fall in love with at least one! Go on, I dare you! Plus, I love shopping small. I love the fact that I’m helping a mom or dad somewhere in the country get their hustle on. So, when you can, I encourage you to shop small too!
ANNOUNCE IT with your shirt!
Two years ago this summer I purchased some tees for my boys and me so that we could announce the arrival of the third in their crew. My shirt was from Hello Apparel. They also have an awesome line for parents: I’M SO TIRED and matching babies or kids: I’M NOT TIRED. Those will soon be on our list ๐ My boys donned tees from Vicarious Clothing announcing their big brother statuses.
When my now 5 year old was a wee THREE, we did an impromptu photo shoot at the park having him sport his THREE tee. This little statement piece was from Vicarious Clothing as well.
COOL is all in the eye of the beholder.
And to me, these tees are super cool! I do have to resist and avoid the temptation of purchasing ALL of the shirts.
Below are just a few of the AWESOME small shops I’ve shopped at in the past or plan to shop at in the VERY near future [like as soon as I finish writing this blog post!]:
KaAn’s Designs: (The Original, The REMix, The ENCore, The Mic DRop– is something right up my alley!)
Charlie And Chomper: (at least once a week you’ll see me sporting their Mother Of Boys tees)
Be Still Clothing Company: (any given Sunday in the fall you’ll find me wearing their Sundays are for Jesus and Football tee)
Sweetees: (Aint No Hood Like Motherhood is on my list for the fall and their super cute hoodie)
Please let me know in the comments below some of your favorite cool small shops for graphic tees!
