Summer is coming! You know what this means, right? Kids are home all day long, bored to tears, begging for you to take them to the latest and greatest attention-grabbing spot so they can play and get their energy out. The first few weeks, this is just what we wanted—an easier schedule, no alarm clocks, and the ability to actually sip an entire cup of coffee that only gets lukewarm and not ice cold.
The Dog Days of Summer Are Coming
Then, reality sets in. These kids are HOME, moms. For many more weeks. And every day is like you’re right back on that hamster wheel, listening to the call of the wild. “I’m bored,” they say. “Can so-and-so come over?” they ask. “Let’s go to _____ (name the place; there are so many)!” they exclaim. And you know what, you’re tired. Just…tired.
Never fear, Moms! Trinity Christian Academy comes to the rescue. They have camps that last all day. You heard me right. Let that soak in. Doors open at 8am and kids can stay all day long, even getting served lunch on-site.
Okay, let’s try to calm ourselves.
In years past, TCA has offered morning sessions and afternoon sessions. But now, their expanded program lets you customize the day you want your children to have. They can still do a half day, or they can come for a full day. The best part is, there are so many courses to choose from.
TCA’s Summer Camp Options
Each week of the summer, based on your child’s desire and needs, Trinity Christian Academy’s summer camp has one of the most expansive course options I’ve ever seen in summer camp offerings. Truly, their list is something to behold. A few examples are:
- Athletic camps (basketball, volleyball, soccer)
- Crafts
- Board games
- Roblox 3D game development
- Reading, writing, and arithmetic
- Hands-on Bible stories
- Art camp
- Minecraft
- Musical theater, featuring various Broadway musicals
- World cultures
- Bug camp
- Intro to digital graphics
And this is just the first week! Browse the TCA Summer Camp brochure and you’ll see there are hundreds more offerings to choose from. You can register and pay online, too.
But hurry! Most classes have a 10:1 ratio, so classes are kept small. That means there are limited spaces. Camps fill up on a first-come, first-served basis.
Kids do not have to be bored to tears once school ends, and you don’t have to be left wondering how to stimulate their brains in the dog days of summer. Whether you’re a working mom or stay-at-home mom, it feels really good knowing that our kids are doing what they love in a nurturing, caring, and healthy environment.
