Whether you’re newly postpartum or a seasoned parent, we all need to take time for our mental and physical health. Our kids need to see us taking care of ourselves. Our healthy habits will help build their healthy habits. Fortunately, Collin County has an abundance of fitness studios that offer childcare while you exercise. 

These places will get your heart pumping while entertaining your kids in the same building. Your kids may benefit from their activity time as much as you. Start with a tour or day pass to see which facility and workout feels right for you. We hope one of these spots becomes a new favorite for you and your family.

Gyms with Supervised Childcare

Club 4 Fitness :: multiple locations :: This affordable gym offers premium plus members access to Kids Club for children ages six weeks to 12 years. Kids stay entertained with seasonal activities, arts and crafts, and computer learning while you hit the bikes, weight rack, red light booth, or coffee counter.

Cowboys Fit :: Plano :: Its Plano location offers childcare in the aptly named Rowdy Room. It’s open daily, but times vary. See the website for Rowdy Room hours. Aside from the space and group classes, what sets this gym apart is its recovery lounge that includes cryotherapy, compression, and hydromassage therapy.

EOS Fitness :: Frisco, Plano :: This 24-hour gym offers equipment, group classes, recovery zones, and more. Childcare for ages 2 – 12 years is offered for 30-, 60-, 90-, or 120-minute time slots, and features mini basketball courts, toys, and activities. Childcare is an additional monthly fee per child added to membership.

Fitness Connection :: Allen :: Its Kids Club is for children ages 3 – 11 years and includes a mini movie theater, tablet stations, and a homework/craft table. In addition to the usual gym amenities, Fitness Connection offers a women’s workout area, racquetball and basketball courts, a Fit Flix theater, and a sauna.

LA Fitness :: multiple locations :: Frisco, McKinney, Prosper, and Sachse locations offer Kids Klub. Children can run and play safely while being monitored by staff. While Kids Klub isn’t included in the standard membership, you can choose between a monthly membership or a pay-per-visit option.

Lifetime Fitness :: multiple locations :: Complete with top-notch amenities, studio classes, and even a spa, Lifetime also offers childcare for ages three months to 11 years. Drop your children off for up to two and a half hours. The play area has a separate infant area, and members love its parent night out events.

Terrell Recreation Center :: Allen :: This spacious center has recreational and fitness activities for all ages. The supervised playroom offers up to two hours of engaging care for children ages three months to nine years. There’s even the Treehouse, an indoor playground. Don’t forget to wear socks!

YMCA :: multiple locations :: Family memberships include free child watch for ages six weeks to 10 years, although ages vary per location. Take advantage of 90 minutes of childcare in a group fitness class, an indoor lap pool, the pickleball court, and more. Membership includes group exercise classes and special pricing for children’s programs, such as monthly parent night outs.

barre3 :: Frisco :: Reserve childcare for ages six weeks and older at barre3’s Play Lounge in Frisco (Plano location does not provide childcare). It costs $8 for the length of one class. A ten-visit pass for $75 is also available. Childcare providers are CPR-certified and watch up to six children at a time, so book in advance to secure your child’s spot. As for your workout, barre3 studios provide mats and props, so all you have to worry about is the diaper bag for baby. 

Burn Boot Camp :: multiple locations :: Membership includes nutrition resources, meetings with a certified trainer, and complimentary childwatch for children ages eight weeks to 12 years old. 

Neon Cycle + Strength :: Plano :: When reserving your next cycle, strength, or yoga class, reserve childcare too with Neon Kids. Only a few hourlong blocks are available per day, so you must look ahead and reserve online. Child care is for kids ages six months to 12 years and costs $10 per hour. Five- and 10-visit packages are available at a discount. Don’t forget to refuel at the smoothie bar!

Stroller Boot Camps

Fit4Mom :: multiple locations :: These group workouts are designed to engage your kids in the stroller while you move. Need to stop to change a dirty diaper? No problem. Membership includes play groups, monthly moms night outs, and various events. Classes include stroller strides, stroller barre, strides 360, Fit4Baby (if you’re expecting), and a dozen more.

She is an oncology registered nurse but has temporarily hung up her stethoscope for the glamorous life of being a personal chauffeur, chef, and maid to her two tiny bosses, Elizabeth and Henry .
