I am a sucker for almost every fitness trend out there. Which, if you knew me in high school, is the absolute last thing you’d ever think would come out of my mouth. As I have grown up, I have really developed a love for all things fitness…especially running.
Running is great, and I love it, but the training does tend to get pretty boring. I’m always looking for new ways to get stronger, as well as meet other people with the same interests as I have.
When I found out about Circuit 31 Fitness, I was immediately intrigued. They are privately and locally owned in Allen, Texas, offering a full-body, 31-minute circuit training workout. The best part is there are no class times or wait lists… so I can’t be late (or use that as an excuse!)
I was SO excited to give them a try!
The facilities are new and clean and don’t have that yucky “gym” smell at all. You show up, check in, get your wrist band, and get to work!
There are 10 stations you visit, spending about three minutes in each one. They have a monitor with specific instructions as to what you are supposed to be doing, with modifications if necessary. They also have staff members on hand who are there for any questions or guidance you may need.
You’re hooked up to the system and so you can see where your heart rate is the entire time. It’s pretty awesome – and if I was there with a friend I know it would add a whole new level of competitiveness!
The stations generally go from a strength-focused activity to a cardio activity and then back again, to keep your heart rate up! The stations change every single day, so you won’t get burnt out doing the same things over and over again.
They also offer personal training, if that’s something you’re interested in. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgable, they really made me feel “at home” working out there, and I can’t wait to go back.
Membership dues vary based on your contract length; however, my favorite part is they give you a break in price the more often you go. It’s the “good attendance bonus” and you’ll save an additional $30 per month if you go more than five times each month…If that’s not great motivation, I don’t know what is!
Another very cool, and very unexpected, perk to this facility is the follow-up. On my way home from the gym, I got an email with my workout summary. It went over my calories burned, duration of my workout, summarized my heart rate zones, and told me how many points I earned.
Check out Circuit 31 Fitness by visiting their website or follow them on social media! And if you go by be sure to tell them that I sent you! They have a free trial, but if you mention Collin County Moms Blog you’ll receive 50% off of your first month.
