The first time I walked into Trader Joe’s I fell instantly in love. Every corner I turned led to some new item that I just HAD to have. I pride myself on the fact that I have tried just about everything TJ’s has to offer. While I have found a few duds I have also found some things that are just too good to pass up. So below I have made for you the top 5 buy for under $5. Short, sweet and to the point. Screen shot this article because you’re going to want to remember this one!
1) Charles Shaw Wine (All Varieties) $3
Yes, you read that right, $3 y’all. Go with the Merlot, the others are pretty hit or miss. Although for $3 go ahead and buy one of each, I won’t tell anyone.
2) Speculoos Cookie Butter $4
AKA crack butter, this stuff goes on EVERYTHING. Seriously. Apples, celery, bread, steak…try it. The taste is somewhere between a snickerdoodle and a gingersnap, creamy and pure perfection.
3) Frozen Mac ‘n Cheese $3
This is probably one of my favorite finds of any store ever. Think classic diner mac ‘n cheese. The perfect balance of cheese + noodle. Beats out the boxed crap any day.
4) Fresh Flowers $3+
TREAT YO SELF GIRL! If your husband doesn’t buy them, TJ’s is here to save the day. I have seen fresh bunches for as low as $2.99 up to around $10. They are always beautiful and far better than any flowers at Kroger or Target.
5) Organic Pops (suckers) $3
These dye/artificial flavor free suckers are the ultimate prize. The container has 25 pops and is the perfect bribery for a rowdy toddler or adult. I keep a few in my diaper bag as well as my car in case of emergency meltdowns.
Well, there you have it! Not going to lie, I could keep this list going for days! But these 5 are the best of the best. The things I never leave TJ’s without. So go grab a bottle of wine, or 10. Wash it down with some cookie butter and enjoy all of the marvelous finds Trader Joe’s has to offer.
