I’ll be the first to admit that I am really bad about asking for help. But when it comes to organizing and getting rid of clutter in my own home, I get extremely overwhelmed.
I was finally ready to wave the white flag, and in walked Chaos Pros with their incredible team. I have never used an organizing company before and honestly had no idea what to expect. They reached out to me to discuss where I needed help (um, everywhere!) and asked me to send pictures so they could come up with the best game plan for attacking the chaos.
Sending pictures and/or videos in advance helps them shop for an assortment of containers and supplies so everything can be completed at once.
I realized I needed the most help in the master closet and set up three hours with their Lead Organizer. They have different options based on your project and budget, and you can be as involved as you want to be. I knew I needed to be present to help get rid of things, so I chose to be very involved in the process. Karey was my organizer for the day, and she was ready to tackle my mess. We started with the shoe and purse section of the closet, which was a complete disaster. We took everything out and she helped me separate my things into three categories: keep, sell, and donate.
She didn’t seem to judge me for having 10 pairs of slippers (WHY did I have 10 pairs of slippers?!), for my huge collection of shoes that don’t even fit my post-pregnancy feet (thanks little child for making my feet even wider!), or even for having bags with tags still on them (I might have a bit of a shopping problem). Once we had our “keep” pile, Karey somehow put things back in an orderly fashion.
It is unbelievably satisfying to see everything organized perfectly and in its new home.
I did not book enough time to finish everything, but she gave some great advice on how to finish organizing our clothing plus advice on how to get all my bathroom products in order. I ordered some clear bins off Amazon for my vanity drawers (find them here!) and grabbed the perfect bins from Nordstrom Rack that fit my armoire cabinet. I created little categorized areas for everything from hair gel to sunscreen. Oh, and the overflowing donate box we created? Karey took that with her, donated my items locally, and sent me a donation receipt in the mail!
My biggest takeaway: If you can’t see it, you can’t use it. And if you haven’t used it, you’re not going to—so get rid of it!
This post was not sponsored, I just wanted to share my experience with an organizing service!
Thank you so much for the shout out! We are so happy to be part of your journey to get organized!
