It’s no secret that pumpkin is one of the most popular fall flavors. It seems like you can make almost anything with pumpkin. While that’s amazing, it can also be overwhelming. There are so many recipes out there for so many different types of food…how do you know which ones are actually good and worth your time? This special family recipe from Amy Roth serves up pumpkin goodness and chocolate chips in a different format. These pumpkin brownies are similar to pumpkin bread, but with a slightly different texture. In my opinion, these brownies are a little easier to cut and serve to kids than the bread.

- 1 cup butter softened
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice (or substitute 2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1/2 teaspoon allspice)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Ingredients

- Combine butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla and beat in mixer until smooth.
- Add pumpkin puree, flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, and salt and mix.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Pour into a 9X13 greased pan
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
Which pumpkin recipe should you try first?
It doesn’t matter! Just pick any of these tried-and-true pumpkin recipes and have fun experimenting.
