Ahhh…the 4th of July. A day full of sunshine, swimsuits, swimming, fun, friends, family, and a whole lot of food!!
Who doesn’t love a festive dish??? Us mamas are super busy all of the time and some of us don’t necessarily have time to slave away in the kitchen all morning before the big get together, so I’ve put together a few of my classic and new favorite recipes to make this 4th of July holiday!
They are quick, easy, and super yummy!!
American Flag Fruit & Cheese Platter
Depending on how small or large your platter is, will determine how much fruit and cheese to use for this. Also, I personally chose to use mozzarella and pepper jack cheese, but feel free to use any WHITE cheese you and your party prefer!
Ingredients:
- Blueberries, washed (I think I used one cup for my particular platter size)
- Strawberries, washed and sliced in halves
- Watermelon, cubed
- Raspberries, washed
- Mozzarella Cheese, cubed
- Pepper Jack Cheese, cubed
Directions:
- As shown in the picture above, lay your fruit and cheese down in alternating stripes to form the “red and white stripes” of the American flag
- If you have a small dish or bowl (mine was square), then put in left corner and fill with blueberries to form the “stars” of the American flag
- Chill in the fridge for at least an hour and serve!
Fruit Firecrackers
Ingredients:
- Blueberries, washed (I use 6 blueberries per skewer)
- Watermelon, cut in shape of star
- Wooden Skewers
Directions:
- As shown, cut your watermelon into round slices and use a star shaped cookie cutter to cut out stars
- Add 6 blueberries to your skewer and top with one watermelon star per skewer
- Repeat until all fruit is gone OR until you have made the desired number of fruit firecrackers
- Chill in the fridge for at least an hour and serve!
Cheeseburger on a Stick
Ingredients:
- Farm Rich Original Meatballs, or your choice of beef meatballs (precooked)
- Cheddar Cheese, cut into smaller squares (1 slice of cheese could be use for 4 meatballs)
- Pre-Cooked Bacon slices, cut into small pieces (optional)
- Pickle Chips, one per meatball (optional)
- Lettuce, cut into small pieces (optional)
- Grape Tomatoes, cut in half (optional)
- Toothpicks
Directions:
- Bake as many meatballs as you want to serve, following the package heating instructions
- While the meatballs are cooking, cut smaller pieces of the cheddar cheese to melt on top of each meatball towards the end of baking
- Stack your toppings on toothpicks; some suggested toppings are a piece of bacon, a pickle chip, lettuce, and tomato
- When the baking time is up, top each meatball with a small piece of cheddar cheese and place back in the oven for a 2-3 minutes to the cheese to melt
- Poke the already stacked stick of toppings into a cheesy meatball
- Plate them up and serve with ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard dipping sauces
These are just a few recipe ideas to get you on your way to fabulous fourth!!
I hope you enjoy these dishes and have a FUN and SAFE 4th of July holiday!!!
