In a pinch, these are fun snacks to liven’ up any “kid-o-ccasion”
These days, the lunch box can be a challenge and I’d say it’s time to revamp those road trip snacks! Move-over granola bars, these aren’t the same old snacks mama grew up with!
5 “Out of the Box” Snacks to Pack in the Lunch Box
Harvest Snaps Snapea Crisps: This is a “go to” for us and I see these popping up in every grocery store all of the sudden. They are low in sodium and high in protein. A handful out of the bag and you are all set for some munching and crunching!
Plantains aka “Banana Chips”: A healthy alternative to chips for the lunchbox! I have found several different flavors of these- sweet or salty. My house prefers the salty but it’s fun to mix it up once and a while for the sweet tooth. I have these on hand in the car (one of my favorites)

Roasted Seaweed: I’m not sure why, but my son LIVES for seaweed, so I had to add it to the list. It comes in easy to-go packages. I have found this at Costco and a few other grocery stores. Roasted seaweed is brittle, flakey and comes in different flavors (watch out for that wasabi!) We recommend sea salt or teriyaki. This is a fun thing to try out but prepare for a mess and get those hands ready for washing!
Honey Roasted Chickpea Snacks: I have tried making this in my own oven and had success! Sweet and savory- try with different seasonings from the cupboard.
Kale Chips: Superfood! Alright, it’s a stretch but this one is FINALLY making a second round back to our household. I like it on occasion- my son wasn’t a fan from the beginning but at a friend’s house I counted he had 3 whole chips! The look on his face was priceless but he went back for more and that’s the key element here. They come in all kinds of fun flavors: Ranch, Nacho Cheese, Salt and Vinegar, Hickory BBQ?!

Great list! There’s a lot of really great flavored almonds out there these days too! It’s so important (but hard) to find snacks that are healthy as well as tasty!
