Belle & Sparrows :: Women Empowering Women

This post is sponsored by Belle & Sparrows. All opinions are 100% our own.

Belle & Sparrows is a local non-profit designed to impact and empower women both locally and globally. This organization is powered by “Women, changed by Jesus, on a mission to bring the message of the gospel and instill worthiness to all women around the world.” It is undeniable that there is incredible power in women building each other up. Through Belle & Sparrows, women are trained to bring this message of empowerment to as many women as possible through outreach trips both local to the North Texas area, as well as internationally.

“We stand in the gap for marginalized women and want all women to know that they possess a true and intrinsic beauty and are worthy of dignity, love, respect, and a better future.” —Belle & Sparrows

The Belle & Sparrows mission is to:

  • Train and lead teams of women to serve women
  • Build long-term partnerships with ministries
  • Return to the same places to build relationships with and invest in the women served
  • Teach women skills for economic sustainability
  • Provide encouragement to women who brave the struggles of addiction, abuse, or incarceration

The name “Belle & Sparrows” is a representation of the message that they deliver. They state, “Belle means beautiful and Sparrows references the reminder Jesus gives us in the Gospels, that because every single bird is remembered by God, we can know that we are never forgotten by Him.” The ministry was founded by Lynde Griggs and Tiffany Savage, who have a combined 27 years of ministry experience. Fueled by their own lives and experiences, they are dedicated to reaching out and impacting the lives of as many women as possible.

What’s Next

Belle & Sparrows had an incredible first year, and they have big goals for their second operating year. According to Belle & Sparrows, their immediate goal is to “to duplicate trips in different locations so that more and more women will hear that they are worthy. Also, we want to help more women find and act on opportunities to start and maintain small businesses with earning potential for their families.”

Their goals include 26 outreach trips in 10 locations, training 200 volunteers, serving 700 (or more) women, 100 small business start ups, and so much more.

Belle & Sparrows facilitates many opportunities to join and serve women in the North Texas area, as well as trips at a variety of United States and international locations. Their upcoming trips include Dallas, New Mexico, Haiti, and Antigua.

“The hope that is sparked by the message of worthiness can flourish into a flame that leads these women to build a better future for themselves and their children. We want to see that message repeated in as many places to as many people as the Lord will allow!” -Belle & Sparrows

Nadia Sherwin
Nadia was born and raised in Collin County and currently lives in Wylie. She is a former kindergarten teacher, but is staying at home for the first time this year with her own little students: two year old TWINS and five-month-old TRIPLETS. Yes, you read that right, five children under three years old! Though her hands are very (literally) full, Nadia wouldn't have it any other way. Nadia always makes time to snap pictures of her littles, have friends over for parties, and go on adventures with her family. You can often find her falling asleep sitting up, nursing/pumping for the triplets, binge watching terrible TV shows in the wee hours of the morning, or surfing Pinterest for meals she'll never cook and crafts she'll never make. Nadia's new-found love is exercising and taking steps day-by-day to become the best version of herself.
