Easy St. Patty’s Day Craft Ideas

Sometimes having a quiet and fun morning at home with your kids is just what you need.  On days like this, Luc and I love to make cinnamon pancakes, scrambled eggs, and of course coffee for mama.  We hang in our pajamas, play, and more than likely do a craft or two.

This week I am particularly excited because it’s St. Patty’s Day and what better way to start the day then with a fun art project!!

Here are five super easy and creative crafts for St. Patty’s Day that you can enjoy with the kiddos this week, using pretty much what you might already have in your home! If you are anything like me, than you keep a stash of construction paper, crayons/markers, glue, and paint, if ever you are feeling artsy!!

These crafts are super basic and require super basic materials!! Some of which you might already have OR might have to give a quick visit to the dollar store!!!

SHAMROCK STAMPERS
This is a fun way to get creative with some paper and green paint and let your kids stamp the day away!!

  • Where’s all my wine lovers at?! Tape three wine corks together to create the “leaves” of a shamrock and use a green marker to color the stem!

  • Who doesn’t have apples in their fridge? Cut an apple in half and dip in paint to stamp the leaves of a shamrock

  • Use an empty toilet paper roll and form in the shape of a heart.  Stamp three times and fill in the “leaves” with a green marker or paint brush

RAINBOW BINOCULARS
This is definitely one craft that the littles can enjoy over and over again!!

  • Tape two empty toilet paper rolls together and cover with rainbow strips of construction paper
  • Cut out a shamrock (or don’t :)) to glue to the top of your binoculars to finish them off

POT OF GOLD PAPER CHAIN
Who doesn’t remember how fun these paper chains were to make in grade school??

  • You just need the colors of the rainbow in construction paper – cut strips out and staple together to make rings, looping one through the other.
  • Cut out a pot of gold with black construction and glue yellow “coins” to the back.
  • Sprinkle some gold glitter for a little shine!

LUCKY FRUIT LOOP NECKLACES
This craft is awesome to help teach the kiddos their colors!! Don’t be surprised is half the necklace goes missing halfway through the day!!

  • Get a box of Fruit Loops and separate the colors.
  • Start adding them, in rainbow color order, to a piece of string or yarn.
  • If you can find a gold coin (probably at the dollar store, Michaels Arts & Crafts, or Hobby Lobby) then add one to the center of the necklace.

SIMPLE COLORING PAGES
If you are not into crafts, don’t have the materials or have the time to go get materials, but still want to get in the spirit with your kids, then just download a FREE PRINTABLE, for a St. Patty’s Day coloring page, print and bring out the crayons!!

I found this great coloring page for a FREE DOWNLOAD at landofnod.com

My best advice to you after these crafts is show them off for everyone in your house to see!! My sons LOVES when I show off his “work”!!

Not that you need it but GOOD LUCK MAMAS (no pun intended) on your lucky St. Patty’s Day crafts this week with the littles!!

Heather is a born and raised Southern California girl gone Texas, who has a strong love for her family, friends, coffee, wine, food, amazing smelling candles, and sunshine. Although she always thought she would live in California forever, close to everyone and everything she knew, Heather took a leap of faith when her husband since 2010, Sean, informed her that his company was relocating to Allen, Texas. Heather and Sean moved to McKinney in January 2016 with their curly-haired, spirited, Lightning McQueen-obsessed, toddler son, Luc (joined the world in October 2014) and their obnoxious, Puggle, Teemu. She is enjoying every moment of her experience in North Texas and building friendships that she believes will last forever. A former advertising professional, Heather is now a stay-at-home, work-from-home (part time) mom, wife, friend, and follower of Christ, growing her faith each and everyday. She recently started studying to get her real estate license and is very ambitious to begin a new career that allows her the freedom to build her own business, while enjoying all of the little things that everyday motherhood and life have to offer. She loves to eat and has a passion for cooking, but believes that there is always a little “something” to add to any recipe she finds to make it her own. She loves fitness and living an all-around healthy lifestyle. When everyone in the house goes to bed, you will find her with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee (decaf of course, that late at night) in her hand, editing her daily iPhone photographs for her family in California, Instagram, and Facebook, while “pinning” the night away.
