We are in the midst of a pandemic and summer-turning-to-fall here in the south. While we are all stuck at home eating our feelings and anticipating the cooler days ahead, let’s get organizing! One of my favorite places for affordable and cute organizing options is IKEA. I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to IKEA; IKEA hacks, to be exact. There are some great IKEA products that can be useful for everyday organizing needs, but there are some that are so genius and creative that I knew I had to do them in my own home.
Here are some of my favorite IKEA hacks for moms that I have implemented in my home. Happy IKEA shopping!
Storage bins– I use these storage bins all over my house. I “Marie Kondo’d” my house a few years ago, and used these bins to organize my chaotic freezer and pantry. These bins are sturdy and so useful whenever you need to hide or store things, and at $1.49, you can’t beat the price!
Twinkle lights– When we transitioned my toddler to a big boy bed, these lights were a lifesaver. They are battery operated and turn any plain old bed into a twinkly experience. They can wrap around almost anything and are a fun addition for any kid’s room. My son loves to turn them on every night and pretends to be sleeping under the stars.
Pegboard– This pegboard is so customizable; we use it to hang pictures, artwork, cards, and other miscellaneous fun projects that we have created. My kids love seeing their work displayed and it’s a great way for guests to see what my kids have been up to.
Toy Storage– I LOVE these storage bins for toys and all kinds of kid things. This storage system is so customizable and comes in clear, pink, and blue colors for the bins. They have lasted us several years and are great to use as sensory bins and storage for other things, like clothes and shoes.
