So I don’t know about you but my toddler keeps me super busy, like all the time!!! He also is so smart and active that I feel like we can’t keep doing the same ole’ things over and over and over again. While this summer is jam packed with traveling and prepping for a baby brother, I still wanted to make sure that I allocated time for creative things to do with him, especially during our lazy days at home.
I came across this craft and thought it looked like fun, so I went on a whim and Amazon (of course), and got all of the supplies.
Boy, was it fun!!
Luc had a blast, it was fun for me to watch and I even have keepsakes from it that I am going to hang up in his playroom!!!
NERF GUN WATER PAINTING
It’s so simple, pretty affordable, and the kids will have a blast. I am going to try to plan a playdate with some of our friends and let the boys go wild out there!
Here’s what you need:
- Liquid Watercolor – I got this one for less than $5 on Amazon
- Nerf Super Soaker AlphaFires – this was the most expensive supply that I got on Amazon and you can probably use any type of water gun, but these were recommended to me for multiple uses and better quality, plus, they are easy to clean
- Watercolor Paper – I got a pad of 140 sheets for $7 on Amazon – this will definitely last me a while too
- Either a hammer and nail to post the paper up to a tree, like I did OR an art easel that you don’t mind getting a little dirty
So simple, you just post up your paper wherever you want to (I definitely recommend keeping this craft outdoors due to the mess; even though its watercolor and is washable). Put 5-6 drops of your liquid watercolor into the Nerf Gun and fill the rest with water. Let the kids fire away!!!
We went through a few different colors and Luc kept wanting to race me to see who can finish their gun first!! It was definitely one of those summer days that I will remember for a while and get to enjoy over and over again once I hang his artwork in the playroom!
Try it for yourself and your kiddos!! Kids are easy to please and so they are sure to have a good time with this one!! I can’t wait to invite some friends over and do it over again!!
Here are our four final masterpieces!
