I will never forget January 2012. My son wasn’t quite a year old. I had just recently joined my local MOPS group, and was desperately looking for friendships. I’d left my job the year before and was feeling a longing for adult conversations and relationships that I hadn’t experienced before. Through an overheard conversation I heard someone mention an interesting post from a website called Dallas Moms Blog.Within the first few months of being a part of the Dallas Moms Blog community, it had already felt like I’d found a home.
Women (and Moms) from all different walks of life, ages of children, and neighborhoods, brought together by a common bond. We all needed friendships and the goal of our site was convicting :: we were truly passionate about helping to bring women in their own communities together to find those friendships.
Flash forward – I’ve been the sole owner of Dallas Moms Blog for the past 3 years. I’ve had the privilege of watching the site expand and grow and connect moms in the Dallas metroplex. It’s an incredible organization with 25+ local writers, hosting over 10 locally organized events a year, and has become a complete parenting resource for Dallas metroplex mamas. But just as our incredible city is expanding, it’s time for Dallas Moms Blog to expand too.
Over the years, I’ve met more and more moms who are finding themselves in the same position I was in just 5 short years ago; expecting a new baby, recently moved into a new life stage, or having just moved into the area with no “village” yet to call their own — and many of which are all living just outside of Dallas in the North/East suburbs of town. Collin County.
Having been born and raised in Richardson, traveling all across the County during college (for class work at UNT), and living in the area after marriage, I feel a strong connection to the Collin county areas just North / North East of Dallas. With over 500,000 people now living in the area and a growing community culture, it’s now time for Collin County to shine! For this reason, we present to you the start of Collin County Moms Blog — a Sister Site of the City Moms Blog Network.

CCMB is a community of local women who are passionate about connecting moms! Our site, born today, is written and run BY local moms, FOR local moms. Our team of local contributing writers (and moms) are sure to give you something you can relate to, connect with, and learn from.
At Collin County Moms Blog, we know moms need to share local information and recommendations. We need to build friendships and have the convenience of doing so all from our mobile phone, tablet or computer. So, our goal is to help connect local moms in our community online, and soon, offline, through play dates, moms’ night outs and other local events. We’re here to encourage, inspire, and lift one another up in a positive environment. We’re here to remind you that even if motherhood feels lonely, you are not alone.
