Have you been searching for the perfect Father’s Day gift? For one reason or another, I always have trouble finding gifts for the dads in my life. This year, I asked my friends and family members what their favorite gifts were, and their feedback gave me a lot of great ideas for Father’s Day gifts. I’ve composed this list of tried-and-true Father’s Day gift ideas for every dad, whether you’re looking to splurge or just make him feel special.
Easy Father’s Day Gift Ideas
Gifts for the tech dad
Luckily, there are many options for dads who love the latest and greatest technology. If you want to splurge, a great idea is a new pair of headphones, whether he prefers Apple ear pods, Bose, or Beats. Another great option is a new comfortable gaming or office chair. This one comes highly recommended! Lastly, if the dads in your life have been putting off buying a new phone or smart watch, now is the perfect time for an upgrade.
Gifts for the artsy dad
My husband always appreciates new records to add to his collection. There are several local places with great record selections. The Groovy Coop in downtown McKinney is one of our favorites, but you can also order them online. Another idea is a cool, custom t-shirt with something funny or clever to make him laugh. A third, more frugal idea that is one of my personal favorites: an illustrated family portrait. You can get them on Etsy for under $10. Make it really special by finding a unique frame at a thrift store.
Gifts for the outdoorsy dad
My husband is also all about being outdoors. Some great ideas if you’re looking to splurge are a Yeti cooler to keep his drinks cold, a new grill, or a really nice outdoor folding chair. Budget-friendly options include cool grilling or gardening gear or a custom BBQ apron.
Gifts for the active dad
I think dads who are into fitness might be the easiest to buy for. You can’t go wrong with new athletic clothes or shoes. Another great practical idea is an insulated non-sweat water bottle. You could also stock up on his favorite supplements or shakes.
Gifts for every dad
I know the dads in my life always cherish a sentimental or handmade gift from the kids. I love to look up ideas for cards using our kids’ handprints or footprints for different holidays (don’t forget to write the year)! You can also check out these really sweet customizable books.
Some other great ways to show you care are subscription boxes (they have everything from socks to beard-grooming kits to cocktail kits…) or gift cards to their favorite places. An additional simple way to let him know he is loved is getting several $10 gift cards to their favorite fast food restaurants or coffee shops. Other thoughtful gifts include: a Yeti tumbler or mug, a date night out, planning and making all of the arrangements for a weekend trip, a massage (by you or a professional), letting him sleep in, breakfast in bed, or putting together a gift basket with their favorite liquor, beer, candy, or snacks.
At the end of the day, I think dads want the same thing that moms want—to feel appreciated. Even if it’s just a handwritten note that lists reasons why they are loved or a kind gesture, like making (or ordering) their favorite foods, a little bit of thought goes a long way.
