Chestnut Square Heritage Village Tours
Thursdays and Saturdays

Learn about life in the early days of Collin County. Educational tours are geared for all ages and begin at 11:00 a.m. Tickets are $7 – $10.

Grandscape’s Fun in the Sun series features entertainment and activities every Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Treats are available for purchase. Admission is free.

Cathy’s Critters in Princeton is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays. Enjoy petting zoos, pony rides, outback tours, and more. Check the link for “know before you go” information and weather policy. Tickets are $10 – $15. Ages two and under free. Cups of feed are $3.

Saturday morning stories await little ones at the Richardson Council Chamber from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. through August. The free event is for ages three to six. Registration is not required.

Story Time at the Interurban Railway Museum

Engage in a morning of stories, songs, and a tour of historic Car 360 every Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Admission is free for kids ages five and under.

Join Crayola Experience on select Tuesdays for crafts, activities, a story time, and more from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Advance tickets are $26.99. This program is for kids ages three and up.

Tot Splash Time
Weekdays

Regular admission gets kids under age six into the pools before hours to enjoy tot features. Jack Carter and Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center pool hours are 10:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at Oak Point Recreation Center pool.

4th of July Bike Parade

Visit the City of Melissa for its inaugural bike parade at City Hall. All ages can dress up in red, white, and blue while they ride bikes, enjoy treats, and win prizes from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.

July 3
Paper Crafts for Teens

Teens going into 6th – 12th grade will get crafty with paper at the Frisco Public Library from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Create origami figures, paper beads, and more. Admission is free.

Independence Day Pool Party

Celebrate America’s birthday at Texas Pool in Plano from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. Be treated to food, pool games, and more. Admission is $10 per person. Veterans and active-duty military get in free.

July 6
Plano Art & Culture Quest

Visit McCall Plaza on first Saturdays from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. Meet local artists, visit downtown shops, stop by Haggard Park, and more. This is a free event for all ages.

July 7
Musical Adventures: The Ocean

Hear Plano Symphony Orchestra perform selections from The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, and more at North Texas Performing Arts. Visit the instrument petting zoo 45 minutes before the 3:00 p.m. showtime. Tickets are $15.

July 9
Teens: All About Chicken

Central Market Cooking School in Plano will teach teens ages 13 – 17 to cut, prepare, and cook a whole chicken from 12:00 – 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $95 per student.

July 10
PAWS to Read

Children will read aloud to a Heart of Texas therapy dog from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Melissa Public Library on a first-come, first-serve basis. Admission is free.

Family Luau

Families will enjoy a night of fun and swimming at Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center’s outdoor pool in Plano. For just $5 per person, guests will enjoy a burger, drink, and cold treat until 8:00 p.m.

The Addams Family: Young @ Part

This comical adaptation by Genesis Children’s Theatre tells the story of Wednesday Addams after she grows up and falls in love. This production is for kids in 7th – 8th grade. Tickets are $10.

Tween Gametime: Mario Cart

Tweens ages nine – 12 are invited to the Richardson Public Library for an afternoon of gaming fun from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the Storytime room. Admission is free.

Summer Snowball Fight

Families will enjoy games, bubbles, music, snacks, and more from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the park behind City Hall in Melissa. This event is free to attend.

Kids Club at Watters Creek Village

Youngsters ages two to six are invited to this free come-and-go event at Watters Creek Village every third Wednesday of the month. Hear stories and make crafts from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Teens: Sushi Basics

Central Market Cooking School in Plano will teach teens ages 13 – 17 more advanced skills as they create their own sushi feast from 12:00 – 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $95 per student.

Anime Movie Night

John and Judy Gay Library will host an anime movie night for rising 6th – 12th graders featuring The Girl Who Leapt Through Time from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Register online. Admission is free.
