We’ve all been there…We have the Pinterest recipe up on our tablet or phone. We went gone to the grocery store just to purchase the special ingredients for this meal. We’ve spent well over an hour working to perfect this meal. Then disaster strikes, and it’s a complete bust. Through the tears and the heartache, we turn to our go-to pizza pit stop and place an order.
The great loves of my life are my husband, my sons, and pizza.
I have traveled to many different counties, states, and cities, and one of my first questions is always: “How’s the pizza here?” My personal favorite has to be the way pizza is served in Ireland: with a side of French fries; be still my heart.
As a resident of Collin County for over 20 years, I have tried many local pizzerias; some have been hits and others a miss. My hope is that after reading this, you will have a few new favorite pizza joints to call when dinner is a failure, when you need a quick and easy crowd pleaser, or you’re simply just craving some greasy goodness. The best part is, you’ll be (mostly) supporting local with your order!
Favorite Pizza Pit Stops in Collin County:

New York Pizza and Pints (Allen and McKinney): If you’re looking for a New York-style pie in northern Collin County, this place serves up some great choices! I have tried their pepperoni and jalapeños as well as their cheese, both were equally yummy.
Joe’s Pasta n’ Pizza (Plano): This is hands-down my pizzeria in Collin County. When I returned from a trip to New York City a couple of years ago, I was determined to find a substitute for the Big Apple’s most famous food. Joe’s comes through big time. If you close your eyes while you eat, you can hear the taxis honking and feel the lush grass of Central Park beneath your feet.
Little Rome (Plano): This is one of Plano’s newest restaurants, and much like Joe’s, offer a variety of Italian dishes. I got a supreme pie and loved every bite. Bonus: The wait staff is all dressed in gondolier outfits as if they were going to row you around in Venice, AND it has a leaning tower of Pisa model in the middle of the dining room.
Eddy’s Pizza Restaurant (Plano): This was a favorite high school hang out for my friends and me. I have so many good memories of eating pizza by the slice in this quaint little restaurant. Being able to purchase by the slice at Eddy’s is a big selling point. You can also order many other Italian foods there.
Campisi’s (Plano multiple locations in DFW): This is a classic Dallas choice. Growing up, this was always my choice when it came to where to get pizza. Their flatbread pizza is very unique and always hits the spot. The sausage is my personal favorite.
Pie Tap (Plano and two locations in Dallas): Another more recent addition to Collin County. It’s an amazing place that has a special process for rising their dough, which makes it light and satisfying without giving you a food hangover. The simple ingredients in their pizzas are what makes it one of my favorite choices for a pizza fix.
