Fall is my favorite season — the cooler weather, the food, and the decorations. My kids are young, so I need simple and easy Halloween crafts they will enjoy. Hopefully, I can use them to decorate, too.

Here are some of my favorite fun and easy Halloween crafts for kids.

Tie-Dyed Coffee Filter Monster

Supplies:

This is a fun and easy craft both kids and adults can enjoy. First, have your kids color the coffee filter with the washable markers. It doesn’t have to be colored in all the way because the colors will spread and blend.

Next, use the spray bottle to spray water on the coffee filter until the colors blend together. The colors might bleed through, so spray the coffee filter on a surface that is safe to get messy, like a cookie sheet or cardboard box.

Once the coffee filter is dry, cut out different shapes from construction paper, and glue them to the filter to make monster faces.

Pool Noodle Halloween Craft

Supplies:

The summer heat is still here even though it’s October, so take those extra pool noodles and put them to good use. First, cut the pool noodles into various lengths — some short, some long.

On the foam paper, draw and cut teeth, noses, and mouths for your Halloween creatures.

Everything is ready to assemble! Arrange the googly eyes and foam paper cut-outs into a face, then glue to the cut pool noodles. Keep adding different parts of the face to your Halloween creature. This easy fall craft for kids is sure to get you excited to start decorating for fall and Halloween.

Halloween Brew Glitter Slime

Supplies:

This one doubles as a sensory activity and science experiment! In a large bowl, mix one cup of hot water with the green glitter glue.

In a separate bowl, mix remaining half cup of water with Borax. Combine Borax mixture and glue mixture, and mix well.

Make sure no watery bits are left. Keep mixing until it turns to slime. Let the slime cool.

Finally, the kids can add the creepy Halloween items. Place slime into your fun Halloween container and enjoy!

Frankenstein Handprints

Supplies:

Paint your fingers black with one paintbrush. With the other, paint the rest of your hand green. Be generous — paint the entire hand with enough paint to cover the paper.

Then press your hand very carefully on the paper. Gently press your child’s hand on the paper to get a full handprint.

Once the paint dries, draw a mouth and screws onto the handprint. Glue the googly eyes onto your Frankenstein, and watch your creature come to life!
