Teaching Kindness With Popsicles

I am a big believer in sticker charts as I’ve seen the permanent positive effects of their effectiveness with consistency and love. At the beginning of quarantine and the early days of social distancing, we decided to follow suit with my son’s classroom and created our own Kindness Chart.

It came in handy with online learning but as we moved into summer, it also helped my little ones learn that opportunities to be kind present themselves all the time, in the form of taking turns and letting someone else go before you.

And what a perfect time to turn something as simple as making homemade popsicles to see just how kind we could all be.

While we always have popsicles at the house for post-bike rides, we had never made them before this summer. Get the kids involved with these delicious popsicle recipes and look for kindness opportunities to present themselves.

Ways Your Kids Can Show Kindness While Making Popsicles:

  • Helping gather and measure ingredients
  • Reading directions
  • Taking turns
  • Patience with a younger sibling
  • Taking their time
